I first saw Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring a few weeks after its release. I had read the books but didn't (I'm ashamed to say) rush to see the film. I don't think I can stress how amazed I was by this modern masterpiece! Although I do not want to take credit away from JRR Tolkien for his wonderful piece of literature, I felt that the film brought the tale of Frodo Baggins and his companions to life like I had never imagined! This first installment of the trilogy has a terrific cast of both established stars who further guarantee their places in cinema history (Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett, Viggo Mortensen. to newcomers (Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Orlando Bloom. who will hopefully light up our screens for years to come! This is a piece of film magic with two more glorious chapters to come! With the three films made in one go over the course of two years the entire cast and crew should be incredibly proud that they have been involved in making epic cinema, the likes of which have never been seen before.
